Here are suggested guiding questions to aid your reflections on story no. 2: I thought What I Suffered From Was All My Fault.

{Write your answers in a journal, if you’d like. Or sit, or lie down quietly to connect with your internal system.}

After reading the story,

  1. What is coming up in you right now? Or is there a part of you present that resonates with my experiences shared in this story?

  2. As a followup question to no. 1, what does this part want you to know right now? Please note that what this part wants you to know could show up in you as feelings, thoughts, sensations, visualizations, or pictorial memories. So, if it resonates with you, you may want to locate where it is in your body, on your body or around your body as well.

  3. How do you feel about cultural burdens and societal burdens around bodies and food that was shared in the story?

  4. Is there any part of you that wants to talk to you about cultural burden(s) and/or societal burden(s) that you’ve directly experienced?

  5. Do you recognize any curiosity and/or compassion toward yourself and/or your part{s} reading about cultural burdens and societal burdens?

May you allow, recognize and welcome your experiences with gentle curiosity. May you treat yourself with kindness.

Please remember “Slow is Fast”. And while you’re doing these refections, please know that I’m there with you.

With love,

Gaia
